Why did you start umpiring?
Left playing the game at an early age and after a while missed it, but didn’t want to play again.

Who has given you the most help in your career?
Too many people to single one out, but my wife is a huge support.

Describe memories from your first NZC appointment.
It was a Women’s Development Tournament in Christchurch – I remember the coaches were hard work!

Which is your favourite cricket ground to umpire at and why?
The No 1 ground at Eden Park is special to me - as a child I went to all the games there and dreamt one day of playing there.

What's the strangest thing you've seen happen on field?
In an ODI when NZ played India at Hamilton, an Indian man, fully dressed, ran onto the field. Apparently he just wanted to shake the hand of MS Dhoni!

Greatest cricket moment you've seen on field?
I was lucky enough to be the reserve umpire when Brendan McCullum scored a triple century at the Basin Reserve.

If you could invent a new law or playing condition, what would it be?
That One Day games are played over four innings of 25 overs, with the second innings carried on from the first. That way no need for DLS, as the score at the end of 25 overs stands as their score.

Why should people get involved in umpiring?
The old adage – best seat in the house. It’s also one hell of a challenge!

What advice would you give to aspiring umpires?
If you enjoy it, keep doing it.
